Stress Over Procrastination Problems

What role does procrastination play in your life?

Stress Over Procrastination Problems

I think many people procrastinate in their lives. Especially with electronic devices and other activities that can distract many people. I procrastinate in many areas of work such as long-term projects and school work which leads to stress and negative and positive experiences.

A lot of work can lead to procrastination since starting tasks can be overwhelming and difficult. This leads to finishing tasks at the last minute. I have planned for assignments and have made schedules for myself. Even though I planned projects, I did not follow them. I was unmotivated when I tried following each task. When I don’t finish parts of those tasks, I do not continue to follow the schedule.

Sometimes, I don’t make a schedule for them and work on them when it is close to the deadline. I have procrastinated on writing assignments. I usually don’t divide the work from an assignment properly. When I started my history project, I did not plan the time the assignment would take, and I was unmotivated to start. I found this topic difficult and uninteresting. This resulted in a lot of stress and staying up late.

However, when I follow the assigned schedules given by teachers or group schedules, I am more responsible with the tasks. There is more responsibility in these schedules. I try not to negatively impact my group. Also, when these schedules are given by teachers, I complete the task more easily.

I am better at finishing short-term projects since I think they are easier to complete and allow me to start on them faster. I am also satisfied when I complete short tasks since I feel productive. They are usually due soon, and I can finish them in time. I don’t usually procrastinate on these tasks.

Procrastination also causes me to be unpunctual. I usually start getting ready close to the time of the meeting. I think sometimes I lack the motivation to attend places. I look at my phone or do last-minute chores. This leads to finishing getting ready quickly and sometimes forgetting things.

Instead of doing this, I know I should do tasks earlier. This would help me not be stressed and would give me more time to get prepared. My phone sometimes prevents me from being productive. I think if I can spend less time on my phone, then I could be more punctual and procrastinate less. However, my phone also allows me to take a break and helps me relax.

I thought that homework should not be done over the weekend since they should provide a break from homework over the long weekend. Now, I think doing homework on the weekend can help alleviate the workload during the week. This can decrease the amount of stress.

Extensions are available, but I try to avoid them as much as possible. I think they are helpful, but they sometimes show less responsibility. I think extracurriculars can have an impact on finishing assignments. They can limit the amount of time on other activities. Time management is important for scheduling and finishing tasks with other activities.

When I am excited or interested in a certain event or task, I don’t procrastinate and prepare for it since I don’t want to miss it. Sometimes, however, there are other events that may unintentionally impact a task. These are often unexpected and sometimes require them to address them before going on to another task. Sometimes, they are planned, but problems can occur. Managing these problems can be difficult, and it is important to address them quickly.

Procrastination can also lead to positive experiences since it can allow for less work. Circumstances can change events and tasks. This can prevent doing unnecessary work even though it does not occur often.

Procrastination is common and has many consequences. I hope to fix this problem by starting and finishing tasks earlier over longer periods. It may be difficult, but it would allow me to finish tasks with less stress.

  1. Hi Elda! You've chosen a really relatable topic for your essay. You do a great job of choosing circumstances that EVERYONE can recognize and sympathize with, and it's really effective in making your personal essay more universal. If anything, I would say that you can merge some of your paragraphs and also spend a little more time reflecting on your own development when it comes to procrastination. Great post though!!

  2. Great blog Elda! I really like how you cover so many different circumstances that can be related to procrastination. I found many instances in your blog that I related to, like how following a schedule assigned by a teacher makes it a lot easier to stay on top of things. My main suggestion would be to add some more personal examples. You did this a little bit when talking about the history project, but for the most part you tend to talk about situations of procrastination more generally. Adding a few personal examples would help develop your essay into something that is more personal and unique to your experiences. Good job!

  3. Hey Elda, great essay. I really liked the self-reflection of how you were impacted by procrastination and its effects on you, though I do have some suggestions to improve your essay. Generally, I would suggest you to add some more emotion into your essay. Even though you had pretty good information and narration, adding some more sentence variety or putting emphasis on certain parts of your essay through variation would imrpove the feel of your essay. Additionally, if you could come to a development in yourself in the conclusion, it would help bring the essay to a good close. Overall though, nice job!
