My Mother's Role

Elda Gonzalez      Imaginary friend by ITZY was played in my playlist. I thought this song contained a sweet message of comfort. After hearing the intro, I thought of my mom who can comfort me when I need it. The person talked about in the song shares similar characteristics with my mom who is like a friend.       This song mentions supporting the people you care for. It tells them they can comfort them and can strengthen the person. It shows how this person can provide comfort even in the middle of the night and they can reach out to the person in the song. They can offer them comfort even in dreams. This reminds me of my mom who has taken care of me. She comforts me when I am feeling down and worries for my well being. She asks me how I’m feeling and listens to my concerns and helps me feel better. Such as when my mom picked me up from school and could tell I was having a bad day. She asked for my well being. I let her know my concerns, and she was a...

Stress Over Procrastination Problems

Elda Gonzalez What role does procrastination play in your life? Stress Over Procrastination Problems       I think many people procrastinate in their lives. Especially with electronic devices and other activities that can distract many people. I procrastinate in many areas of work such as long-term projects and school work which leads to stress and negative and positive experiences.  A lot of work can lead to procrastination since starting tasks can be overwhelming and difficult. This leads to finishing tasks at the last minute. I have planned for assignments and have made schedules for myself. Even though I planned projects, I did not follow them. I was unmotivated when I tried following each task. When I don’t finish parts of those tasks, I do not continue to follow the schedule.       Sometimes, I don’t make a schedule for them and work on them when it is close to the deadline. I have procrastinated on writing assignments. I usually don’t ...

Growth and Memories

Family connections can be found everywhere. They allow you to grow as a person and consist of people who take care of you and who you care for. Each family has different relationships which is what makes them valuable. My family consists of many people who I have made countless memories with.       My cousins are around the same age as me, and so we would always play with each other. They were people who I spent a lot of time with, and it was like a small group of friends. There are many fond moments I have with them.  I lived in an area where the temperatures were very high. My grandpa would help us set up a small pool in their backyard. We would inflate it and fill it up with the hose. We would stay for a long time. Being under the sun for hours would make us turn shades darker. When we finished after a long time, we would try to be the first ones out to reach the shower. The last one in the pool would be alone, so we would fight for the shower...

Valuable Letter

A Valuable Letter By Elda Gonzalez Waldsee was an experience that has stayed with me for a long time. During my 2 week stay at my German camp, I received a letter from my mom through mail. Usually, we do not communicate through letters, so this was a new experience for me. This was the only form of communication between campers and parents since phones were not allowed. I briefly explained how to send a letter through the online website. There was a time slot for mail in the schedule that we followed. This was my first time staying away from home this long. I had sent home several letters before, but I had not received responses before. I looked forward to hearing my name being called out for mail. I would be disappointed to not hear my name. Usually, I would join my friend in reading their letter and hear about her family. Her family would keep her up to date on things back home. She seemed pleased to read and share her letters with me. I got to know more about her through these lette...
